Sampling

This is a transcript of a QuickTime movie (2.3 MB) recorded in the Pilbara in 2005. Dr Craig Marshall, of the University of Sydney, talks about collecting samples in the Pilbara.

Transcript:

I've probably grabbed about 40 kg worth of samples, possibly 50 kg. Depends on how many sample numbers it is. I would have to look in my field book, but it is quite a significant amount. How long is it going to take me? Probably at least three, four months to do the sample prep, possibly another month or two for the analysis and then another month or two for interpretation. So it's a good six solid months of research ahead of me, give or take a month or two as well.
