About the Pilbara
The Pilbara is an area of North-West Western Australia where one of the most ancient land surfaces exists - 3.5 billion years old. It is a key research area for the Australian Centre for Astrobiology at Macquarie University in Sydney. The ACA is one of only two associate members of the NASA Astrobiology Institute.
