Using World Wind

Hit the NASA symbol and the program will self-install. It has basic information, but to operate it properly you need to be connected to the Internet. As you move around and select a location the program will draw on satellite imagery. Explore the tabs along the top. Also note under ‘file’ there are other planets and a star catalogue. Greenish boxes that you see for all of the programs in World Wind indicate more information is available. As these outlines turn red it means the program is requesting and getting more information. When no boxes are present it means that is the best information available. Note layers too. Here you can use the chevrons on the left hand side of the layers panel to find other ways of seeing the Earth and the other planets.
